In late December, of 2009, I began to piece things together to get an idea of what it would look like.
In September of 2009, I began the work of soldering all the LEDs into their boards. There are 195 of them!
By July, 2009, I had amassed a number of pieces, but the hard work had started yet.
This photo was taken on the day I met Chris James and studied the construction of his droid. It was in May of 2009. I had already been making and collecting parts by this time.
The inspiration to build my own droid came after seeing the R2-D2 in the LucasFilm lobby at the Letterman Digital Arts Center.
